FST HEAD OFFICE - Administration and Training Section
A recent article in Woolwich Mercury on the work of our main office (PDF)
The Head office is located in S.E London, it is a working project with
approximately 40 members of staff.
Its main function is to maintain all the financial records for the
Trust and the individual projects. The office also produce and distribute the
Mental Health Directory. One of our ongoing projects is to produce these in
various languages and we are currently working with the Asian community to
this effect.
The office actively promotes a “Team” environment, in which everybody’s
contribution is appreciated and valued, whilst in the project, friendships
are formed, confidence and social skills are improved.
Our ethos is very supportive as each person is shown how to perform a variety
of tasks along side a colleague that have more capabilities, skills and experience.
There is an obvious constant personal growth as each member of the workforce
acquire knowledge and skills and progress from being the trainee to the tutor.
Some people come for a short period of time and move on to gain employment,
whilst others stay much longer as they need more time and support to obtain
skills and manage their own circumstances working safe, in the knowledge that
all their efforts and achievements help support the trust and it’s ongoing
projects.
Our entire central administration is run by our workers.
The Trust is linked to all its Projects through the Internet and administrative
staff use email and the Internet to maintain day to day communications.

The Trust is run by two full time Directors and the Managers of each of the projects. It has a Board of Trustees who oversee the long term development and proper governance of the Trust.
